Expanding a franchise company into international markets can be exciting and mutually rewarding for both franchisor and Master Franchisee. However, logistics, language and cultures can be barriers to many companies looking to expand overseas.

International enquiries are welcome from anywhere in the world. Chemex have a tried and tested system that has been developed over the years and which has made them successful in a competitive market. Chemex do what they do well and the emphasis is on quality and customer service.
To set up and operate effectively overseas it is important to understand that every country has its own culture. It isn’t enough to just speak the language. There are also differences with regard to the perspective on products which can extend to eccentricities with names or presentation material. The logistics of setting up overseas presents its own problems but none is insurmountable.
International franchising not only provides us opportunities to expand our reach, it also enhances brand awareness and adds to the culture of our company. There is a wider exchange of ideas and often invaluable contributions are made from overseas partners which can benefit the parent company in its own market.
Any potential Master Franchisee will be expected to have drive, determination, experience and financial strength to build a national presence. The ideal candidate is someone who has business experience in the market where they are seeking a franchise. Essentially, the strong desire to succeed and contribute to a winning team, coupled with personal integrity, interpersonal skills, and devotion to the day to day development of a countrywide Chemex business is of paramount importance. Chemex can provide all the necessary training and support in order to help you develop the business but you must be able to demonstrate a history of success in business as well as the ability to work within a franchising organisation like Chemex. It is unlikely that any candidate with funds of under £100,000 will be considered. Personal, non-borrowed resources need to be invested into developing a national business.
